About Us
Polessky Forestry Enterprise is located in the south-eastern part of the Brest Region on the territory of the Stolin District. Like any other part of Polesie it is a land of primeval forests, marshes and rivers that serve as a home to numerous species of birds, animals, fish, insects and plants. The forest is mainly represented by wood species like pine, birch, oak, common alder, ash and etc. Two rivers are running across the territory of Polessky Forestry Enterprise – the Lva River in the north-eastern part and the Stviga River from south to north. The largest part of Polessky Forestry Enterprise is a protected area represented by two state forest reserves:
- Olmanskie Marshes (Olmanskie Bolota)
- Middle Pripyat (Srednyaya Pripyat)
Polessky Forestry Enterprise was founded in 1944. The main objectives of the enterprise are:
Ecological and sanitary
The main aim of the organization is to maintain the ecological balance of this particular ecosystem by keeping forested and swampy areas safe and healthy.
Radioactive control
As the result of the Chernobyl Catastrophe the biggest part of the Polessky Forestry (appr. 44908 hectars) has been contaminated. That is why today on the territory of the forestry there is a laboratory and a post of the radioactive control. Their main function is to monitor the radioactive situation of the region. The Polessky Forestry is certified under the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).
Economic
Polessky Forestry Enterprise SFI watches after the efficient use of the forest and water resources. It tries to satisfy the growing demand in them without harming the nature.
Administrative Division
Administratively Polessky Forestry Enterprise is divided into 15 logging camps, 95 submanager’s charges and 7 forest districts:
The Enterprise is also engaged in apiculture. There are two large apiaries with 165 bee colonies. The products of the bee-keeping are actively sold to the consumers.

Hunter’s Lodge
The Hunter’s Lodge of Polessky Forestry Enterprise is a wonderful place for those who enjoy spending their free time in the wilderness. It is located in the vicinity of the Vyazemka Village. On the territory there is the lodge itself, a 55-meter observation tower, a garden house, a barbeque stand and an open-air enclosure foe hunting dogs.
The Hunter’s Lodge has enough space to accommodate up to 8 people. It has everything for a comfortable stay. There you can find:
- 8 bedrooms
- a living-room with a fireplace
- a kitchen
- a dining room
- a shower
- a toilet
- a sauna
The house is very well equipped with all modern conveniences such as gas, hot and cold running water, central heating. There is also a fridge, a gas stove and a set of crockery. Everything here is provided for a successful hunt and fishing.
